There is just a touch of cassis and violet that emerges with continued aeration. The palate is medium-bodied with supple tannin, more rounded in texture than its peers. There is impressive volume towards the finish that is uncommon in this vintage, but you have to just stand back and admire its persistence." An excellent Clos Fourtet that really lives up to the success of recent vintages, if not quite at the level of its 2015 and 2016. Damson, dark chocolate and saline notes are bolstered by extremely dark fruits that have the juice to carry them through the mid-palate, the oak supporting rather than overwhelming. There's a slight austerity and savoury edge to the fruit that speaks of 2017, but this is easily hitting the heights of St-Émilion in this vintage. CLOS FOURTET 2015 - 1ER GRAND CRU CLASSE B
Dieses berühmte Weingut, das 2001 von der Familie Lurton an Philippe Cuvelier verkauft wurde, ist ein echter clos , umgeben von Bruchsteinmauern, der an der Stelle eines römischen Kastells und gegenüber der Stiftskirche von Saint-Émilion errichtet wurde. So viel zur Etymologie. Der Weinberg ist ein Lehm-Kalk-Terroir, das mehrheitlich mit Merlot (85 %) bepflanzt ist, ergänzt durch 10 % Cabernet Sauvignon und etwas Cabernet Franc, und von großen Hecken umgeben, um die Artenvielfalt zu erhalten. In der Kellerei wird jede Parzelle separat vinifiziert. Mit diesem Jahrgang zeigt Fourtet den Stil eines großen Lagerweins: seine dunkle Farbe ist fast schwarz sein konzentriertes Bouquet ist reich an kleinen reifen Beeren, die durch die feinwürzigen und gerösteten (Kaffee-) Akzente ergänzt werden. Reichhaltig, großzügig, kraftvoll und lang. Am Gaumen besticht er durch seine Tanninstruktur, die noch ein wenig fest ist und ihn im Moment noch streng erscheinen lässt, aber eine sehr grosses Lagerpotential verspricht.- Shop: VINATIS
