Come back to a time when manners are everything and rules are made to never be broken. Come back to a time when men are in charge and women do what they are told... Yeah, that never happened. Welcome to Megan Bryce's Regencyland, where ladies with backbone get what they want. Where a woman can thumb her nose at rules and care little for convention, and yet somehow, unexpectedly and most reluctantly, find love. To Tame A Dragon Lady Amelia Delaney is known for her sharp tongue, no-nonsense attitude, and sizable fortune. Numerous suitors have tried to win her hand for the money, for the challenge, and for a rather unfortunate bet. She knows the unflattering reasons behind her numerous proposals- can she ever accept that a man would want to marry her just for herself? Jameson Pendrake is a devil-may-care dandy who cares for naught but fun and fashion. But behind his laughing green eyes lies a dark history, and he calls off his wedding because of his fear of repeating the past. He can not simply give up on the idea of marriage- a wife is the best defense against the yearly crop of scheming mothers and their frilly daughters. But to allay his fears he needs a woman strong enough to laugh in the face of his past. A woman unflappable, unwavering, and unbroken. He knows just the woman. The trick, it seems, is in getting her to accept. ungekürzt. Language: English. Narrator: Maureen Cavanaugh. Audio sample: https://samples.audible.de/bk/acx0/026796/bk_acx0_026796_sample.mp3. From Iris Johansen, the nationally acclaimed New York Times best-selling author of And Then You Die and The Ugly Duckling, comes her most electrifying novel yet. Forensic sculptor Eve Duncan has a rare - and bittersweet - gift. Her unique ability to reconstruct the identity of the long dead from their skulls has helped bring closure to parents of missing children. For Eve, whose own daughter was murdered and her body never found, the job is a way of coming to terms with her personal nightmare. When she is approached by billionaire magnate John Logan to reconstruct the face of an adult murder victim, only his promise of a sizable charitable contribution persuades her to accept. It's a simple bargain, yet it's the most dangerous one she'll ever make. The warning signs are clear. There is the specially equipped lab Eve is taken to in a country inn turned high-tech security fortress in rural Virginia. Surveillance cameras monitor her every move. The telephones are tapped. And then there is Logan himself - by turns ruthless, charming, and desperate. But it's too late for Eve to walk out. The skull has begun to reveal its shocking identity, trapping her in a frightening web of murder and deceit. To free herself, she has no choice but to expose that identity and to trust Logan, the man who put her life in danger, a man who may see her as an expendable pawn.  Language: English. I have wanted to be a legitimate author ever since graduate school. I got the writing bug after spending nearly six months of writing my thesis and I actually enjoyed it. I had no trouble starting to write books, but I rarely got past the first chapter. After years and years of these false starts, I finally figured out a method of writing that works in the cracks of time within my insanely busy schedule created by being a high-level executive in a sizable corporation, an involved father of two kids, and a dedicated husband. I actually walked away with my first novel completed. And in addition to that, I am happy with the result with nearly no impact on my corporate or family duties. You too can accomplish this regardless of how busy you are. At some point in your day, you are in full control of at least one hour of your time. Perhaps this only occurs for one or two days per week. The point is, you have this time if you look for it. I will show you how to use that precious time and turn it into a completed book of which you can be proud. This book is about how to start your book, how to keep momentum, and how to finish it all over your day job's lunch hour or actually any hour you find in the day. It tells the story of how I was able to become a lunchtime author without affecting my schedule and how you can too. ungekürzt. Language: English. Narrator: Noah Westerfield. Space Patrol began as a television show in 1950 and was an overnight sensation. The series followed the 30th-century interplanetary exploits of Commander-in-Chief Buzz Corry of the United Planets Space Patrol and his young sidekick Cadet Happy. Together they thwarted evildoers wanting to take over the Universe. The show was targeted to children, but attracted a sizable adult audience. A radio series soon followed with the same cast performing on both the TV and radio shows. Commander Corry was portrayed by Ed Kemmer and Cadet Happy was Lyn Osborn. As was common at the time, some of the villains had Russian or German-sounding accents. Corry and his allies were aided by such sci-fi gadgets as ray guns, miniature space-o-phones, and atomolights. Space Patrol was sponsored for most of its run by Ralston/Purina and lasted on television until 1954 and on radio until 1955. Enjoy 12 half-hour episodes from this fun and exciting sci-fi radio series. 10-25-52 The Hole in Empty Space 12-6-52 The Space Shark 12-13-52 The Search for Asteroid X 1-10-53 The Sleepwalker 5-16-53 The Secret of Sub-Level Seven 5-23-53 Treachery in Outer Space 6-20-53 The Indestructible Germ 6-27-53 The Treasure of Planetoid Sixty 8-1-53 The Sleeping Demon of Saturn 8-8-53 Trouble Aboard the Supernova 8-15-53 Peril Over Jupiter 8-22-53 The Menace of Planet X Language: English. The tale of Dr. Frankenstein and the horrendous monster he unleashes on the world when he tinkers with the laws of nature had almost as strange a birth as the monster itself. It was the product of one of the most famous ghost story telling sessions in history. Lord Byron, Percy Bysshe Shelley and several others were stranded on the shores of Lake Geneva during a particularly sodden summer. They challenged each other to come up with the most ghastly and soul-rending story their sizable literary talents could muster, and the hands-down winner came from Shelley's wife - Mary Shelley. The novel that emerged several years later has been recognised as one of the most chilling and gruesome horror stories ever written, and it is certainly one of the most famous. It's a moving account of a battle for independence, it's a warning against man's pride in his ability to change the world with his blind pursuit of science, it's a story of revolt and revenge and, most intriguingly, it was one of the first novels to be written where the narrator is not necessarily a reliable witness, and we are left to carve the truth of the matter out for ourselves. This is an alarming book - in several very enjoyable ways. Author Mary Wollstonecraft Godwin (1797-1851) was a novelist, dramatist, essayist, biographer and travel writer. She is, however, best known for her Gothic horror novel Frankenstein: or, the Modern Prometheus, published 1818. She also edited and promoted the works of her husband, Percy Bysshe Shelley. ungekürzt. Language: English. Narrator: Derek Jacobi.
