    The works of John Wesley have been treasured for many years, and we are pleased to offer this 141-sermon set in three volumes. These sermons constitute the essential points of his beliefs. Many were published by Wesley himself while others were recovered from his manuscripts after his death. He strived to reach the everyday man and bring him a living gospel, and this intent is spread throughout his sermons.While Wesley had originally intended to publish a three-volume series, he went on to add a fourth. The four books are comprised of approximately 44 sermons and are contained in volume I of this audiobook. In 1746, he had published the first book of this projected work, titled Sermons on Several Occasions. He later went on to add another nine sermons to the series. The subsequent books were released in 1748, 1750, and 1760, respectively. It is important to note that these are by no means the whole of Wesley's written sermons; they were merely selected by him for the Christian reader as a kind of standard for his belief of many of the principal points of Christian doctrine, and have since become known as the standard sermons.In his preface to volume one, Wesley himself wrote, "I have accordingly set down in the following sermons what I find in the Bible concerning the way to heaven; with a view to distinguish this way of God from all those which are the inventions of men.     Power of One
    Contemporary gospel music has often taken flack throughout the years, being criticized as 'cheesy', or having a very 'dated' sound. In many cases this is true, as Christian artists have strived to mimic what's on the radio, rather than carve out a niche all their own. As a result, the genre - for the most part - stays within the confines of the church community. But every so often, an artist emerges to break the mold and be the exception to the rule. Jita is one of those artists that show such promise. On her EP release Power of One, we are given three versions of the album-titled song: contemporary, Spanish, and one with what I would consider as having a Caribbean flare. This is a fun song with a message that can definitely be utilized in a joyous church celebration. The lyrics sound particularly pretty in Spanish. 'Lean On' exemplifies Jita's smooth voice over lush synthesized chord progressions. I could have listened to the song without any drum programming at all. Her voice could have carried the entire track with very light instrumentation. It takes on more of an RnB feel once the drums come in after about a minute in. The lyrical content has both spiritual and emotional implications. With lines like, 'I ran into your arms today. I ran so I could get away - from all the news and all the pain', it's hard for people to not find something to relate to. The real gem of the album, though, is the remix for 'I Need You'. This is house music packed with lots of harmony and soul. A wonderful dance track that competes with the best of them. This song reminded me of the classic house number 'Good Life' from Inner City (which by the way, is a huge compliment). The word that keeps coming to mind when listening to Jita is 'smooth'. Vocally, she stays in her lane, only venturing out when needed. There's no Mahalia Jackson wailing on here, but you'll be hard-pressed to find Jita sing a bad note. I sure would love to see her do some more dance numbers in the vein of the 'I Need You' remix. But, I suppose that would depend on where and how the Spirit leads.

    In my upbringing I listened to a countless number of concerts, in contrast to recordings, I favor the life force being demonstrated on a concert. Each breath, or every move the performer makes, the audience attends. In this first ever recital, after eight years of travel in Germany, I aspire to record such stage experience, that music can be surprising and moving, also to mark my returning to Taiwan. Though some unavoidable defects or "imperfections" might be present in the live recording, the power it bears and the reaction from audiences is something unachievable in a studio. I invited my close friend Show-Yin, who studies Stage Design at Berlin University of the Arts, to join the completion of this album. Saw her work few years ago, and I was since moved by her imagination and movement. We discussed and exchanged ideas for ten months, listening to variety of versions and comparing them. We expect to actualize the music. Classical music, like any other art form, strived to present an ineffable and abstract spiritual aspect, under a specified history background. Listeners enter the musical world via the performer's interpreting: Ysaye granting elegance to his violin, Szymanowski's chilling work, Mythos, and Beethoven's Kreutzer, Sonata for Violin, which is at the brink of madness. Let your mind travel through time and space, follow the joy and sorrow, and view it in detachment or immersion... We, as art performers, hope to leave behind a spiritual communication, whether pronounced or silent.

    CHRISTMAS ( revisited ) ALL NEW ARRANGEMENTS and SOUNDS ! On Christmas Songs, previously recorded . These are some of my favorites and I hope they are yours, also . Songs that have lived for years and will continue to live, even in these most difficult of times ! What would Christmas be without some of the glorious Christmas music written through the years ! I wish I could record it all, naturally, that won't happen, therefore, in " CHRISTMAS revisited " I have strived to improve my arrangements and sounds . Only you, can determine, whether, I succeeded . Four songs were added, that weren't on the other album " Away in a Manger, Away in a Manger ( Cradle Song ), Over the River and Through the Woods to Grandmother's House We Go, We Wish You A Merry Christmas " . On the last two songs, I attempted to do sounds that were different from the rest of the album . On "O Come All Ye Faithful and It Came Upon the Midnight Clear", I increased the sound volume and the beat , I believe the style of the songs warranted the increase . I think, because Christmas music is only heard for a short time, that, it seems to be always, fresh and new . Played, a few days before Christmas and particularly on Christmas eve was always my favorite listening times . I know it's a hectic time and you have so much to do . But take some time to listen and relax, even if you don't get everything you planned, accomplished . Let the good memories flow from the past as you create new ones this Christmas . Time waits for no one and in a flash the present becomes the past . It's hard for me to believe, that, I've seen so many Christmas's come and go . Not all have been good but in memory they've all been good . I guess that's par for everyone . Like the song, WE WISH YOU A MERRY CHRISTMAS and A HAPPY NEW YEAR !! When it comes to this type of thing, I'm someone who loves beautiful music, from all types of genre's, songs, musicians but not all and not everything or everyone . Late in life, I got the whim to start playing the keyboard, which I did, without any formal training and although I can't compete with the masters, the greats, near greats and very good, I'll continue to do so until the end . Every once in awhile I'll mess with the guitar and harmonica ( not very good ) hate to practice ( and practice makes perfect or at least better ), pay attention kids . And all that has led to this, most of us don't advance because we're afraid of failing . We may never reach our goals -- but how do we know, if we don't try . It's fourth down - inch's from the goal line - go for it ( whatever it is ). Experience is the best teacher but often the most bitter . There was much music, artistic, athleticism talent in our family that went by the wayside . If you don't do - you regret. My mother, always, used to say -- ' YOU CAN'T PUT AN OLD HEAD ON YOUNG SHOULDERS ', how true ! RDM.
