'A Garland of Gold' is a history of the early masters of the great Kagyu tradition of Tibetan Buddhism, such as Saraha, Naropa, Marpa, Milarepa and their spiritual heirs. This history represents the testament of the Kagyu lineage forefathers, showing us how they developed devotion and confidence in their gurus, received the inspiration of the dakini messengers, obtained the precious lineages, attained the vision of mahamudra, and spread the keys to enlightenment. Their songs, also translated here, though incomplete without a master's textual transmission, offer a connection with the world of mahamudra. Lama Jampa Thaye's account of the early masters is based on the histories composed by Pawo Tsuklak Trengwa (1504-1566), Go Lotsawa (1392-1481) and Pema Karpo (1527-1592). He received the transmissions and teachings of the Kagyu forefathers from Karma Thinley Rinpoche and his other gurus such as Ato Rinpoche and Khenchen Thrangu Rinpoche. The Kagyu tradition is one of the four major schools of Tibetan Buddhism alongside the Sakya, Nyingma and Gelug. It rose to prominence in the eleventh and twelfth centuries C.E. some one and a half millenia after the passing of Lord Buddha and remains one of the great spiritual transmission available in the world today. This book offers a remarkable look into the origins of this world.

Was the Civil War the greatest war in American history, or was it the biggest mistake in American history? Was the blood of more than one million men spilled over countless battlefields necessary to get rid of slavery? Was the country we called free for everyone just an idea? Was a nation born and then destroyed because of an institution that was nothing more than peculiar? Does the flag of a dead country that still flies over courthouses in the South speak for a nation? Does that same flag represent the evils of slavery or the pride of a people who don't know how to let go? Would our forefathers approve of and recognize the country we call America today? Did America's greatest war finally make us one nation? Let an 11-year-old boy answer these questions the only way he knows how--by being honest about his country and himself. Unfurled No More Forever is about the death of an evil institution and the creation of a nation our forefathers truly intended. ungekürzt. Language: English. Narrator: Michael L. Eads. Since the dawn of mankind, we have closed our weary eyes and settled our tired bodies into a place called home - always blind to the company with which we stay. From the dull caves of our forefathers, to the mighty castles of the middle ages, and all the way to the civilized neighborhoods of today, they - the "monsters" under the bed - have lived among us caught in the shadows of coexistence...until now. ungekürzt. Those who have traveled into America’s only remaining frontier rarely come back out the same. Only in Alaska can we come close to understanding what our forefathers must have felt upon their arrival in the New World. McPhee brings to this narrative the qualities that have distinguished him in the field of travel literature—tolerance, brisk, and entertaining prose, and a fascination with things most of us never bother to notice. ungekürzt. Great Bald Eagle may sound like a really cool name for a Native American Indian, and if he had have stayed, or even grew up in the settlements of his forefathers, then things might have different. But time moved on, his forefathers spread about a bit, and eventually Great Bald Eagle was born. GBE, Jeebee, to his friends, was raised by Native Americans that were so far from their ancestry, they barely knew anything about it, apart from the fact that they used to call their kids noble heroic names such as Geronimo, and Dances With Wolves. Jeebee came out bald, alopecia, so they thought they would give him a majestic name to help him rise heroically throughout his life. They were wrong. Ever the brunt of jokes by everyone, within Jeebee grew a hatred for hair, and the money, imagery, and importance it had gained over the millennia. People spent thousands of hours grooming, preening, washing, drying, straightening, curling. It was fine when it was mostly the ladies doing it, but when this new wave of hipster surfaced, where man would spend even longer in front of the mirror with lotions and potions, it burst something inside of that had lying dormant all his life. Jealousy. With inspiration from his ancestral blood playing a heavy part, Great Bald Eagle, Jeebee to his friends, is going to make these hairy bastards pay. The wrath of the mighty DeadBeard, is about to befall beardkind. ungekürzt. Language: English. Narrator: JD Kelly. Audio sample: https://samples.audible.de/bk/acx0/093303/bk_acx0_093303_sample.mp3.
