From Scratch
Hello and thank you for taking the time to inquire about me. Well, first off in case you missed it my name is John Auston. I am a poet, musician, songwriter and producer striving to reach hearts in all corners of the world through the poetry and music God has blessed me with the ability to create. My mother told me that from a baby I loved music. When she took me to church as a toddler I stood up tall in the pews whenever the choir would sing and imitated the choir director directing the choir by constructively flailing my hands and stomping my feet. Upon learning to write and being introduced to poetry in elementary school I was amazed at what one could do with words, specifically written words. I didn't talk much as a child but I found that I could express myself quite well through writing, and I was in awe of how those expressions affected people. As I grew up poetry and music were always a part of my life. I was in the band and/or chorus from 5th grade through highschool and I wrote poetry whenever I felt inspired to. Today I still play, write, and sing and I have just completed my debut album 'From Scratch'. This album is a creative compilaiton of poetry, music, and harmonious voclas unlike any other album you have ever heard. It has a Spoken Word/Urban R&B/Neo Soul feel. In creating this piece of art I strove to make sure that every word is carefully placed for optimal effectiveness. You won't find 'filler' words or out of place phrases on this album. You'll find that the music on which the lyrics are riding is all original and very diverse as well. So go ahead and pick up the album, you won't be dissappointed.
