The title track 'After the Storm' was inspired by the tragic devastation to the people and city of New Orleans caused by Hurricane Katrina in 2005. The music aims to paint a picture of the period during the end of the storm and as it disappears into history. The piece begins with a rhythm and tension depicting the storm itself which then evolves into a state of sadness. The real beauty of the piece is the following section which brings a sense of hope that better days are ahead. There are several pieces on the album that express themes from the Hurricane Katrina Tragedy such as 'Hope', 'As the Sun Rises', and 'Loss.' There is no scientific doubt that music can affect one's mood and well-being. There is also no doubt that emotions are direct responses to music. Yet, we don't know exactly why we have an emotional connection to musical sounds. Some theories state that music may have been a crucial part of early human behavior and can be traced back to the most primitive parts of the human brain. In essence, music is a component of our being. As a committed student to the study of affective emotions, guitarist/composer Tony Margiotta infuses emotional charges within his musical creations. Emotion is what inspires him to write music, and to serve all those who have a desire for musical pleasure. A pleasure that brings them not only an inner peace on earth, but also to a world of imagination beyond consciousness. After many years of musical evolution, Tony has created a genre of music that seeks universal appeal. Sophisticated, yet never overstated, his music blends many influences including jazz, rock, world, and new age. Beyond style, his music possesses feelings of inquisitiveness, passion, and reflection. Tony's melodies are thematic and are intended to create memorable images like an evocative photograph or a brilliantly colorful painting. His music has been described as ethereal, smooth, relaxing, worldly, and fitting for soundtracks. But the most critical aspect of his music is to evoke an emotional response from the listener. Through his emotionally drenched compositions, Tony attempts to break through the passive surface of society and affect it's people to feel and dream in ways that unveil the nakedness and essence of humanity. The music of Tony Margiotta is a shared experience that reaches out to the global community. Considering himself a musical servant, Tony's mission is to provide a soundtrack for people's lives. The experience awaits you.

For the last 40 years Gilbert & George have spanned the international art scene with as much insolence as elegance. Real living sculptures, they have developed a repetitive language around recurrent figures and themes: shit, piss, blood tears, nakedness, sperm, alcohol, sweat. Theirs is an oeuvre that has radically overturned conventions and thinking of the period, and which refers literally to sexuality, exclusion, and social and religious violence. This interview, filmed in 2000 by the curator Hans Ulrich Obrist for an exhibition at the Musée d’Art moderne de la Ville de Paris, concentrates on the hysteria of the archive and the collection. Through this document, which does not fit into any distinct category (documentary, oeuvre, fiction) we discover the couple’s intimate life, the interior of their London house, a veritable museum of obsessions. Beyond good and bad, appearances and things (negatives, books, press cuttings … ), we finally penetrate the material and method of these artists, their particular manner of thinking and categorizing which is itself a philosophy on art and life.DVD Multizone, PAL, 35 minutes.
