Just as she seems to personify the religious ethos of sixteenth-century Spain (the good side of it, at least), so Victoria came to embody the best of the Spanish character in music. As a youth, he learnt his art as a chorister at the Cathedral of Avila. So promising was he that he was sent to Rome at seventeen years of age, patronized by Philip II and by the Church, to study at the Jesuit's Collegium Germanicum.

    Behind The Mask is a collection of Baroque repertoire for Countertenor and Richard Michael Fox's debut album. Excerpts from G. F. Handel's oratorio - Messiah, N. Porpora's opera - Polifemo, J. S. Bach and G. B. Pergolesi. With these tracks played in order, there shows a subtle chronological theme of conscious living which brings one from birth through awakening, recognition, thanksgiving, and resolution. It references the Christ example that conveys the human journey on Earth. Behind The Mask is a live recording performed with the Atlantic String Quartet with harpsichord in Cook Recital Hall on modern instruments at modern pitch. This CD is a great addition to any collection. Richard has an intuitive sense of the dramatic, a soulful expression and a wide range with a sublime clear tone, exquisite timing and a bright crisp coloratura. His ornamentation is always clever, unexpected and very pretty. When asked to define himself, Richard Michael Fox says that he is "a body of infinite consciousness of sovereign being -- as we all are -- creating a very rich human experience". He started singing at an early age and has spent most of this life as a chorister in many choirs. He has sung with Cantus Vocum, Memorial University Chamber Choir, Memorial University Festival Choir, the Newfoundland Symphony Orchestra Philharmonic Choir, and the University of Guelph Choir in Ontario. He has also spent some time as the director and pianist of the St. Pius X Folk Choir in St. John's, Newfoundland. Richard Michael Fox has been seen in many musical theatre productions in St. John's with Spirit of Newfoundland, Ta Da! Events, Peter MacDonald Productions, and Artistic Fraud. He played Riff Raff in "Rocky Horror Show", and King Herod in "Jesus Christ Superstar". He has been a comedic emcee and has hosted several "Burlesque Shows" for Neighbourhood Dance Works at the LSPU Hall and the Majestic Theatre, both in St. John's, Newfoundland. In the Fashion Industry, he was scouted and represented by two modelling agencies, Thomas Management in Halifax and Access Agency in Ottawa and worked with internationally accredited Newfoundland fashion designer Dwight Saunders as his studio model in Ottawa, Canada. With respect to Film and Television, Richard has been represented as an actor by Reel Time and Reel Talent Agencies in Calgary and Toronto, Canada. He can be seen in "Cinderella Man", "Heyday!", "Bloomsday Cabaret" for BravoTV, "Rare Birds", Showtime's "Behind the Red Door", two episodes of OLN's "Creepy Canada", and in several episodes of "Queer As Folk" on Showtime in the U.S. and Showcase in Canada. Richard Michael Fox is formally educated and trained as a Baroque Soloist Specialist Countertenor under the tutelage of Dr. Douglas Dunsmore at Memorial University of Newfoundland School of Music. He has devoted his life to the pursuit of bel canto in spite of his severe deafness.

    Happy Ever After
    Joanna Higgins possesses a unique vocal ability. With a sound that marries her traditional singing background with a classical training, Joanna has the ability to bring a new dimension to both her own and traditional songs. An All-Ireland traditional singing champion when only a teen, Joanna went on to develop her interest in various forms of singing, receiving a classical training which enabled her to become a professional chorister and to eventually develop her own style. Joanna sang with the National Chamber Choir of Ireland and Opera Ireland before taking on the role of choir leader in Riverdance. This enabled her to tour North America performing in Radio City Music Hall and also in the full Broadway run of Riverdance in the Gershwin Theatre. Whilst in New York Joanna continued her vocal training and began song writing. Joanna is heavily influenced by both traditional and jazz music and this is evident in her debut album 'Happy Ever After'. Many of the songs on this album, which are self penned, are reminiscent in style of the American songbook. Joanna has also recorded beautiful jazz infused arrangements of traditional songs such as 'My love is like a red, red, rose' and 'Danny Boy'. It has been a long-time ambition of Joanna's to record this album and with the help of her husband, musician and arranger Derek Collins, they have produced a truly unique collection of songs that are tender and pure, rich and emotional in equal measure.
